How Dan found his passion in helping others

Dan’s passion for nutrition didn’t begin with a single defining moment—it grew from personal experience and genuine curiosity. From a young age, he observed how different people around him had very different relationships with food. In his own family, one member maintained a healthy weight and approached food with balance—enjoying treats without overindulging. Another family member, while very active, had grown up in a “finish everything on your plate” environment, often viewing food as a reward and struggling more with portion control. These contrasts sparked a desire in Dan to understand the why behind eating behaviours and how food choices shape long-term health.

That interest deepened through his own personal struggles with food. Dan knew what it felt like to have a complicated relationship with eating, and this personal connection drove him to seek a better understanding of nutrition—not only for himself, but so he could support others in a meaningful, evidence-based way.

Dan went on to earn a Master’s degree in Medical Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Sheffield. He was inspired by an exceptional tutor during his undergraduate studies, who helped him realise that nutrition was not just a personal curiosity—it was a subject he could study, master, and turn into a career with real impact.

With over six years of experience working in the food industry, Dan has developed a strong, practical understanding of how diet, lifestyle, and mindset all connect. His work focuses on helping people make sustainable, realistic changes to improve their health and quality of life—without guilt, restriction, or fads.
